Question: I have uploaded the code for the HTML Form and the Formmail file to my website, but for some reason the form is not working. What should I do next?

Answer: If your form does not work, then follow these 4 steps to fix it:

1)First, when you test the form to see if it works, make sure you are not testing it within your FTP account. You need to actually go to the World Wide Web to test the form. (So, for example, if I am testing a form and the webpage where I placed the form is called "form.html", then I need to go to "http://forms4free.com/form.html" to test the form. If you are testing the form within your FTP account at an FTP URL such as "ftp://forms4free.com/form.html", the form won't work, and when you click "submit", a dialog box will appear that asks you if you want to "save or open the formmail file?" You need to go to the actual HTTP URL such as "http://forms4free.com/form.html" in order to test the form properly)
2)Second, depending on the email address you are using to receive the email containing the answers to the form, it could take anywhere from 2 minutes to several hours from the time someone fills out the form until you receive the email containing the answers to the form, it is completely random. So, when you test the form, be patient and wait for the email to arrive.
3)Third, if the form does not work, call your hosting company and make sure they have your website hosted on a server that can process forms. If they do not currently have you hosted on a form-processing server, they can probably change that very easily. If they can not upgrade you to a server that can process forms, you will need to switch to a decent hosting company that can process forms
4)Fourth, If you have called your hosting company and they have told you they already have you hosted on a server that can process forms and the form still does not work, then send the code for your HTML Form and your Formmail file to admin@forms4free.com and we will check it for you and we GUARANTEE that we will fix anything that might be wrong within 48 hours.

Question: Does the Formmail file prevent spam from being sent through my form?

Answer: Absolutely. Towards the end of our HTML Form Wizard, you will be prompted to copy and paste some code into the formmail file in order to prevent the recipient email field from being altered. This will prevent people from utilizing your formmail file to send spam to other people through your form.
